New work: Valentine's Burgers
Following up on that work in progress, here's the final piece:
This is a tradition that L and I share: we've been going for burgers with friends on the 14th of February for nine consecutive years. That said, this is the first year I bothered creating a flyer for our little outing. I limited myself to a couple of hours on this one so there are a few problems here and there but you've got to admit: that's a pretty nice B.

An ordinary life – revised
Something I'm tinkering with – the proof-reader's marks aren't quite right yet and the positioning of "less" isn't quite working but the sentiment is spot on.

Duolingo's Icons
I've been using Duolingo for a few months now in order to improve my French. They've just updated their web service to match their mobile apps and it's a lovely piece of design. My favourite has to be their icons (presented below) – grey for a locked lesson, full colour for unlocked/in-progress and gold once you've completed it.

What's even nicer is that they're using SVGs for their icons, meaning they look just as beautiful on retina displays as they do on standard ones.
